The Spanish Association of Textile CHEMISTS and COLOURISTS (AEQCT) held on November 11 the official event WE ARE AEQCT, with the purpose of thanking the partners and protector companies for the moments shared throughout the period 2014-2022 and projecting into the future. In this same act, an award ceremony was celebrated in 3 different modalities:
- PROTECTIVE COMPANY AWARD
- INDUSTRY AWARD
- INDIVIDUAL PARTNER AWARD
Grau, S.A. was the company awarded in the INDUSTRY AWARD category.

INNOVATIVE SME STAMP
On November 22 2022, the MINISTERIO DE CIENCIA E INNOVACIÓN, has awarded GRAU, S.A. with the INNOVATIVE SME STAMP, thanks to its INNOVATIVE CHARACTER and with the aim to reward its GREAT ACTIVITY IN R+D+i

GRAU, S.A. participates at the UPV conference on Sustainable Fashion
Grau, S.A. participated at the conference “EUROPE – NEW TEXTILE PROJECTS FOR A NEW ECONOMY” organized by the Polytechnic University of Valencia on November 2, 2022. Specifically, he was present as a speaker in the “New textile dyes” section.
At Grau, as experts in dyeing and within our objective to improve sustainability, we are leading the Pigmentalia Project, promoted by the European CIRCOAX program. With Pigmentalia, we seek to maximize circularity, dyeing regenerated fabrics with ecological dyes through a methodology that requires fewer resources.

GOTS, GRS, OCS, OEKOTEX RENEWAL
One year more, Grau, S.A. has successfully renewed the most advanced certifications in the sector:
- GOTS and OCS, for the treatment of organic cotton
- GRS per recycled fibers
- OEKOTEX, for the dyeing and finishing of the compositions we work with
We continue to advance on the path of sustainability and accompany our customers to obtain more ecological fabrics.

Grau, SA among the 30 of #CirCoAX
CirCoAX has started, the acceleration program for European SMEs of sustainable and circular fashion and textiles. The accelerator is part of the CircularInnoBooster project; led by the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) and co-financed by the European Commission through the COSME Program. The circularity project presented by Grau, S.A., has been one of the selected ones.
The objective of this project is to transform companies in these industries into sustainable and regenerative business models. This is achieved by applying the circular economy model from a holistic perspective of triple impact (social, environmental and economic).
During 8 months, the 30 selected transnational partnerships will receive funding, mentoring, visibility and training. These grants will make it possible to turn disruptive proposals into benchmarks for the circular economy in the sector.

Grau, S.A.’s history at the AEQCT magazine
“Grau, S.A. es una empresa familiar de tintes y acabados textiles, con más de 150 años de experiencia, especializada en tejidos para el sector de la moda y en tejidos técnicos. Tiene capacidad para tintar cualquier tipo de fibras, tanto a la continua como a la discontinua, y ofrece todo tipo de acabados (ya sean mecánicos o químicos). Destaca por ser pionera y líder en sostenibilidad, innovación y digitalización.
Nació el 1868 en Sabadell, con una pequeña empresa de acabados de artículos de lana, y poco a poco fue creciendo y consolidándose. En 1918, creó una filial dedicada a la tintura de la lana, pasando a ofrecer un servicio integral de tintura y acabados.
A partir de aquí, Grau siguió creciendo y superando duras etapas como la guerra civil (1936-1939) y las riadas del Vallès (1962), que provocaron la destrucción de prácticamente toda la empresa.
El 1968 se cumplen los 100 años y se inicia una etapa de diversificación, con la incorporación de nuevas fibras: poliéster -HT- (70’s), lino y algodón (80’s) y polinósicas, tencel y otras fibras celulósicas (90’s).
En los años 2000, la empresa se adapta a la nueva realidad del textil europeo: se apuesta por la calidad, la innovación, la economía circular y el servicio a un precio competitivo. En este contexto, se potencian las exportaciones y se apuesta por nuevos sectores, como los tejidos técnicos (EPIs y tapicería), un pilar clave para Grau S.A. en la actualidad. Todo ello superando otras adversidades, como un incendio en el año 2003, que afectó gran parte de la fábrica, o la crisis del Covid19, en la que Grau, S,A se adapta rápidamente para contribuir en la producción de material sanitario (batas médicas y mascarillas)”.
